About Alex Peacock

Hi my name is Alex and I am a bike-aholic. There, i said it. I've been a bike nut since before i can remember really, I spent most of my early years and right the way through the school years really on a bike any chance I had. I got heavily into riding BMX, and as anyone who rides or knows someone who rides BMX will tell you, you need to learn to repair these bikes pretty quickly. I started with repairing my own, and then my friends and then my friends friends bikes. As I got older I started to find I didn't bounce when i fell off like I once did (my list of injuries is extensive!) so I started to ride mountain bikes more. I am now lucky enough to live in God's own country and I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Sunday, than taking a ride out on my road bike, or rolling over the moors on the mountain bike.

I've been lucky enough to have worked in some fabulous bike shops over the years, which has given me the opportunity to work on some fabulous bikes and equipment. From rod brakes and Sturmey Archer hubs, to hydraulic brakes and carbon fibre frames, I've seen and worked on all sorts. Yet nearly every week a new problem, a new piece of bike kit, a new tool pops up. I think that is what I love about this industry so much, it is constantly changing and evolving, but always around the most basic principle. Riding. Pedalling a bike. For whatever reason you ride a bike, its still the same basic principle as its always been.
